Nano GNSS motion data logger for wildlife tracking and field research

Small enough for the animal, tough enough for the field and long enough for the study: the Columbus V-2000 Nano packs a multi-constellation GNSS logger, a 3-axis accelerometer, a rechargeable battery and internal storage into a housing the size of a coin that weighs just 18 grams.

Every position fix can be stored together with synchronised acceleration data, so a single file holds both the track and the activity behind it. For anyone who relied on the discontinued i-gotU GT-120B and GT-600B loggers, the V-2000 is the direct successor.

Built for small subjects, sealed for the field

At 18 grams, the V-2000 stays within the widely used five percent guideline for animals from roughly 400 grams upwards. Mounting points on the underside and an official 3D model let you print your own attachments for collars, harnesses, bird tags or wrist mounts. The IP68 housing withstands immersion in 1.5 metres of water for 24 hours.

From hours to months on one charge

Continuous logging at one fix per second runs for about 40 hours. Interval logging wakes the device, records a fix and goes back to sleep, stretching one charge to two months at a ten-minute interval. Scheduled logging and motion detection extend deployments even further.

Your data in seconds, no software required

On a computer or via USB OTG on a phone, the V-2000 appears as a standard USB drive. It records in FUSION, CSV, GPX or NMEA, and the CSV layout matches the Columbus P-1 Mark II and P-10 Pro, so existing scripts carry over unchanged. All settings live in a plain configuration file that you edit in any text editor, and the free Time Album Pro software plays back and converts tracks.
